It started with a problem shared by two old friends from high school. Why are there so many applications to help manage your digital assets and so few for your physical one? Both avid cyclists, they figured that they each had thousands of dollars tied up in bikes, helmets, and other gear, but the total value of those collections of stuff was really unknown. Moreover, they had no idea if those values had changed.

They set out to fix this problem and Gear Index was the result: a portfolio model application for the management of physical assets.

We are excited for people to try Gear Index and see the value in the items they already own, and welcome any and all feedback about features and functionality you would like to see in the future – drop us a line!
